i know it's not perfect, but i am so happy that the health bill passed earlier this week. finally, more people will be able to get the health coverage they need. of course, i wish health care could be completely free in this country, but i still think this bill is the kind of change we need. did you know that 85% of the money that we pay to health insurance companies will have to go directly to medical costs now? that is hugely exciting. i was watching rachel maddow the other night (love her!) and she said something that sums it up pretty nicely. do you want a government that does something? like LBJ did with the civil rights act of 1964, or do you want a government that us hands off in terms of real change in our country? i know what kind i want.
