one of my favorite designers named a dress after one of my favorite singers (okay, i don't know for sure if it was named after her or not, but i'm going to run with it.) i think it's a sign.

how did i miss this? totokaelo, a website i have visited often, has an actual outpost in seattle. why i didn't know this when i was in seattle alludes me. argh! such frustration! their things are so beautiful and i have often perused their website, wishing that their delightful wares could be mine. i am just going to tell myself that the actual store would not have had a great selection, otherwise i will never stop kicking myself.

when we were seattle i saw the most beautiful jewelry by
i. ronni kappos. i love the handmade, slightly retro feel to it.
i'm kind of kicking myself for not picking up a piece when it was right in front of me. sigh.

denim jacket.

currently keeping my eyes peeled for the perfect denim jacket.
a few musts: must be very fitted, a bit worn, and quite faded.

sonnenzimmer.

nick butcher and nadine nakanishi make up the stellar chicago design duo sonnenzimmer. i first saw some of their paintings at lula cafe and was really struck by their simplicity. about a year later i was at the renegade craft fair with a friend of mine when their booth popped out at me. i hadn't seen their posters before and i totally fell in love with them. when i was lucky enough to chat with nadine for a few minutes, and she couldn't have been more lovely. aren't their prints so beautiful?
i love their organic, painterly quality.
